Launched in February 2008, One Buck for the Planet is a nonprofit organization based in San Diego, California, USA. Our idea is simple. Let’s provide a fun, low-cost, and innovative way for individuals and businesses to reduce their footprint and make a huge difference for our planet. Instead of pricey annual memberships or time-consuming volunteer commitments, we’re asking for you to donate just One Buck (US$1) to your favorite cause and to convince all the people you know to join your ripple.
Whether you love the oceans, wildlife, nature, or want to stop global warming, joining One Buck for the Planet allows you to start an endless ripple of giving that never stops. We've handpicked a group of our planet's top caretakers, so just tell us where you want your money to go. Our special Multi-Level Giving Software will track the ripple you create as you share us with others, allowing you to see the difference you're making---one buck at a time, one person at a time.
Our Story
 I started One Buck for the Planet because I’m madly in love with our world. Since an early age, I’ve been fortunate enough to see amazing, far-off places and vibrant cultures beyond my wildest dreams.
But as you know, there’s trouble in paradise and it hurts my soul deeply. Our increasing population and horrible consumption habits are taking a toll on our planet and sadly our earth's top caretakers remain under-funded in the pursuit of their missions.
